September weekend

Nursery will be closed on Friday 23rd and Monday 26th of September for the bank holiday.  Have fun if you’re heading off somewhere.

Coffee morning

Thursday 29th Sept, 9.30.  You’re invited to join Rona Duffy and some of the other parents for a coffee and a chat in the wee hall.  You can have a look at your childs folder, chat to Mrs Duffy and have a look in the playroom.  We’ll even throw in some biscuits!  Hope to see you there.

Individual Photos

Friday 7th Oct.  Morning session.  Andy Stark, photographer, will be in nursery taking individual pictures of the children.  These always go down well as Xmas presents for Grans, Pappas and extended family.  If you’re child does not usually attend on a Friday morning but you’d like to have their picture taken, drop in at 9.45, we’ll get the photo taken and you can get on with your day.

October Week

Nursery will be closed from Monday 17th of Oct till Monday 24th inc.  The 24th is an in-service day so we’ll welcome you all back on Tuesday 25th.  Again, have fun if you’re planning something nice.

Halloween Party

Our Halloween party returns this year on Sunday 30th of October.  Time to be confirmed but it will be in the afternoon.  Dress up, come along to the hall and enjoy the fun.  Tickets available on the door – £2 per person of £5 per family.  This is a fundraiser for the nursery and your support is so much appreciated.  Katie and Marie-Claire, our fundraisers are organising the party, and they’re also looking for help on the day.  If you can help set up or man a stall, let me know and I’ll pass your information along to the ladies.

Outward Bound.

We’ll soon be starting our next rotation of our Outward Bound experience.  A small group of children will spend one session per week in the local park.  They will have snack outside, build dens, climb trees and just enjoy being in nature and watching the seasons change.  If your child is involved in this cohort, you’ll be asked to sign a permission slip, so look out for that soon.

Winter

As advised previously, we’re still be advised to prioritise ventilation in nursery as we continue the battle to keep everyone healthy over the winter.  This means the hopper windows in the playroom will be open throughout.  As the weather gets colder, please dress the children in layers for nursery.  This gives them the option of shedding a layer if they’re too hot.  Also, if you’re bringing your child to nursery in wellies in the wet weather, remember to pop a wee pair of soft shoes in their bag to change into.  We want our cherubs to be comfy!

Student

We will have a student, Cheryl, joining us on a Friday from next week.  Cheryl is working towards her SVQ3 in childcare and will gain valuable, practical experience working in the nursery.  You might hear the wee ones talking about her, and I know you’ll all make her feel very welcome.
