Fundraising Activities

Creative ideas for raising funds for the Nursery.

Clarkston Nursery is a  registered charity and a non-profit organisation, therefore fundraising is an important part of our work that helps to keep fees to a minimum. Throughout the year our volunteer fundraisers organise various fun and exciting events that raise money towards the day to day operation of the nursery.

The money raised each year goes towards purchasing new resources for the children in the nursery.

Here at Clarkston Nursery we are lucky enough to receive fantastic support and involvement from our parents, families and the loacl community. We would like to thank everyone as it is much appreciated.

Community Events

One of our biggest fundraising events is our annual Halloween Party which is open to the wider community. We welcome all families from the local area to come along and have some fun! It provides an excellent opportunity to bring the local community together and for parents to get to know each other. We have a yummy tuck shop, delicious pizzas on sale, spooky arts and crafts, a games room, DJ and much more! We are very fortunate to receive support each year from local businesses in Clarkston and the surrounding areas, who donate fantastic raffle prizes.

Haggis Hurling

For the last few years on St. Andrews Day, the kids have had great fun taking part in our sponsored Haggis Hurl. Dressed in tartan our little ones enjoy throwing as many haggis (fur balls) into hoops laid on the ground cheered on by their families. Adults also enjoy our delicious tablet on sale!

Christmas

Another one of our favourite fundraising events is our Christmas Nativity on the last day of the winter term. Families come along for a cuppa and some home baking in our small hall before heading through to see their little stars in our festive performance. Don’t forget to buy a ticket for our fantastic raffle where the lucky winners receive hampers of goodies for the holidays. The children are always delighted when they receive their gift from our guest visitor Santa! Our fantastic little people are always busy on the lead up to the nativity preparing bags of Reindeer Food which are always a sell-out.

Easter

At Easter time our sponsored Bunny Bounce provides lots of laughs as our children bounce around the room like bunnies and entertain us with their Easter songs. There are always lots of chocolate faces leaving nursery that day after children receive their egg from the Easter bunny! Last year, our fundraisers also organised a kids Easter party at the Palace of Arts in Glasgow. The kiddies had great fun taking part in the Easter hunt and playing in the soft play gym before eating their yummy lunch and Easter snacks.

Graduation

Tissues are at the ready for the Graduation Ceremony on the last day of term! At our ticketed event, parents enjoy a cup of coffee and some delicious home baking before the performance by their little stars begins. The children always put on a fantastic show (created by themselves) before being presented their graduation hats and certificates.

Throughout the year, our fundraisers also sell various homemade crafts and gifts available at the nursery reception to raise extra funds for the nursery. You can pick up personalised Mothers and Father’s Day gifts as well as some extra special festive goodies before Christmas.
